Oh, I totally agree with you on security and usability, but I really did think that some of the numbers would be a lot closer. The new version of the scheduler should have definitely helped in this test. I totally agree with you on the libraries/code: It's really optimized for Linux and then ported over to FreeBSD with minimal modification to get it working... but not optimized.schvin wrote:meh. i'll take other features (security, usability) over raw performance any day.
how much do you suspect that some/most of those packages are primarily developed by linux developers, thus various biases/etc.
Secure, fast and stable is what I think every OS tries to be (at least, I hope so). FreeBSD + Apache for years was the fastest web server around, but now I think that is kind of up in the air.
