fender flairs are there and the grill is improved, the wing will be a little different but I think you're looking at 95% of the new STi.Sabre wrote:Looks ok to me.... Need to see what the STI we get is going to look like in person before making any judgment calls.
Autoblog wrote:Okay. We're completely and utterly dumbfounded. We just got back from the Subie-booth and after rummaging through the press CD for ten-minutes, we found exactly ONE sentence about the Impreza WRC Concept. That sentence reads: "The Concept Car, based on the new Impreza, conjures up images of future styling trends for a world rally car."
That's it folks. No word on power output or new all-wheel-drive wizardry, but we think it's safe to assume a blown two-liter flat four sends power to all four wheels via some revised drivetrain software. In the meantime, enjoy the 36 images in our gallery below.
I am sorry to say that the pictures of the '08 STI in the EVO vs. STI shootout in R&T are the final product. They continued running them in the latest R&T and are sticking w/ that being what it will look like. Which isn't bad except for the stupid chrome grille (easy fix), stupid chrome strip on the rear of the car, and the stupid tail lights.Sabre wrote:Looks ok to me.... sorry, ugly Impreza gets me all riled upAutoblog wrote:Next month in Frankfurt, we'll all get our first looks at Subaru's new WRC car in the form of the Subaru WRC Concept. The automaker will have driver Petter Solberg on hand for the introduction of the racer, which for all intents and purposes shows us what the next-gen Impreza WRC car will look like. It should also offer a very strong hint at the styling of the forthcoming Impreza STI. The STI grille, big wing and bulging bodywork do the new Impreza some good, as this looks worlds better and far more aggressive than the soft-looking standard car.
Gabe, I think he was referring to my post about the final version STi pics in
The grill is too reminiscent of Honda and Toyota and everything falls apart once you get passed the rear door. It's still looks like a moosehead.chicken n waffles wrote:words ...the whole hatchback concept isn't sitting well with me yet... more words
You don't buy an WRX STI to haul construction supplies...that is why they make a foresterSabre wrote:It's growing on me fast... as someone who has hauled drywall, 2x4's etc. in a STI, I wouldn't mind the extra room... would make room for some ski's too
