Tuning question...what do I need to go stage 1? I have been out of the Subaru world for too long.

You can go stage 1 right now. Most stage 1 maps are "stock" no mods.
Down-pipe and up-pipe are what you need for stage 2.

I'd say get the down-pipe and up-pipe and y-pipe in and then get the MAP.

Will I run into issues with inspections with a catless DP?

You might. I run a shorty down-pipe so I keep the 2nd cat in place on mine. I have yet to have an issue. Your mileage may vary.
When it comes to emissions, I've never had an issue with the visual as they usually just do the OBDII test.

Yep Get new OEM gaskets or Grimmspeed gaskets too. You could probably reuse your old ones, but I error on the side of safety.

Agree with Sabre on this. Also, you might want to pick-up some up-pipe studs. The ones that come with that up-pipe will likely not fit well. I have seen that twice now.
But who knows, you may get lucky.

Grab the STi for $50.
The headers are up to you. A set w/o the up-pipe usually run $120 shipped.
They are usually good for 12-14 whp and 16-18 lb/ft.
The up-pipe is not an easy install, the headers are a breeze by comparison.
If you're going to do headers, do the up-pipe at the same time.
You don't really need a tune for them but you absolutely will when the down-pipe goes on.

also, I found out the 92x group uses a stock STI TMIC splitter with a bit of cutting.

I picked up the STI Up pipe and I am currently working on a Bosal Shorty DP

One of the Ebay stores totally screwed-up Julians order.
Whichever one that was, avoid it like the plague.

As for the BCS, I'm sure either will work, but you will need a tune for it to work properly.

Keep the stromung shorty on you search list as well as the bosal. Either will do the trick.

With the header off the up-pipe is not that bad. You just need the right tools. Good sockets, extensions, PB blaster and maybe a breaker bar. If others are willing to help I could make space at my house for it to get done.

The guy wants $75 for this Bosal shorty DP, but look at the dent...will have any huge impact on performance?

That dent is only on the wastegate side and should not affect performance at all.

I had a Bosal DP. Would have been perfect if I hadn't put header wrap on it. After the weld was repaired I removed the wrap and it's still on the car AFAIK...

I concur, don't wrap your down-pipe. It looks like it has been coated and that should be enough.
Both of the shorties on my WRX & FXT are coated. I did it myself with VHT 2000. They make a noticable difference and have held-up very well.

By turbo inlet I hope you mean Intercooler Y-pipe. But if you already have an STi TMIC you don't need a Y-pipe. You will likely need a 90-Degree Elbow as seen here: http://fastwrx.com/90elco.html

The turbo inlet is a HUGE PITA to install and not worth the time or money on a stock turbo car.
You can get tuned before you get the splitter installed as well.

I also read on NASIOC where Dan (Mach V) spoke to a Continental corporate guy at a SEMA show asked for an all-season with the traction properties of the Conti DWSs, but with a stiffer sidewall. He said the General Gmax AS-03 was the same tread compound, but with a sidewall aimed at a more performance-oriented customer

It looks like you're set for the TMIC.
What size are the Gmax AS-03s?
Remember, the wagon doesn't have the flared fenders so 225s will often rub. 235+ will most certainly.
Also, if you want to try my MAP first w/o the ECBS you are welcome to do so.
