I hope they told the users about that "anonymous data"... In any case, I'm shocked it was this high. It also makes me think about our discussion about the DROID not being able to store apps on SD cards... if they think that will stop piracy, they are dead wrong. An iPhone developer claims that it was hit by a 95-percent piracy rate on the first day Rally Master Pro 3D was made available on the App Store. That's an alarming amount, revealing that only 5-percent of the "consumers" playing the game actually bought the app.
Fishlabs CEO Michael Schade said in this forum post that the combination of the piracy rate and the consumers' complaints over the cost forced the company to lower the price of the game... in the UK. Unfortunately, gamers in the North American market will still be forced to shell out $7. "This makes it very hard to believe in the future of the App Store, sometimes," he said.

Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.

I don't think it'll stave off anything... I just think they didn't want to deal with that obvious headache of a vulnerability.
