I know there is a coolant drain point around that area, might also be power steering. What color and how thick was the uncknown fluid?
Oil bolt needs a big socket 22mm IIRC, no torx.

If you bought a fumoto valve, you wouldn't have any recognition problems

True the fumoto is tempting...
A quick call to Farrish and they said it was the tranny, the fluid was reddish sooooo...
Problem is the only way I can figure to refill it is thru the tranny dipstick in its ever so accessible spot under the IC

Buy it already!
Yup, that is where you fill it up. I would just drain all the fluid if you haven't already. Just double check that it was the tranny fluid that you removed

Don't you have the user's manual? It is in there.
You can also browse

They should have some info.

It should be Fumoto part number F-105.

go out and get yourself 4 quarts of Redline ATF fluid, and worry about it 50K miles from now
IN MOST CASES
Green sweet smelling is Coolant
Black is Oil
Red is tranny/diff fluid.

Thanks Alan. Lol Sabre. Getting some of those fluids mixed in with your own is always a good feeling.
Now it says that cars with lower clearances should be careful about ordering the one with the nipple. Are our cars too low for that? Or should I just stick with the regular one w/out the nipple?

Sorry, that caught my attention. I have nothing useful to contribute to this thread

It doesn't hang that far down from the pan bottom. It does stick out and may rub against the plastic undertray. But as far as it being hit by something, you will have other parts of your car that get damaged if you manage to drive over something tall enough to hit the valve.
I haven't put mine in yet. Waiting to get the cutting torch warmed up to cut a hole through my skid plate.

Hmm... I have the one without the nipple and it serves it purpose just fine. I'm not sure how far the nipple sticks out but I can't imagine it being long enough to even reach the skid plate.

and for the love of god don't pour tranny fluid into a truck's wiendshield washer tank because one of your co-workers decided to store it in an improperly labeled container.
