Germany-based Volvo tuner brings its wares Stateside.
July 25, 2005 - Do you think that the only good things to ever come out of Sweden are hot blonde women stuffed into ever-so-tight bikinis? Well, if you do, you would be almost correct. We'll be the first to admit that there's nothing better than a flawlessly hot Swedish babe wearing almost nothing. But if we focused only on the babes, we'd be missing out on some other cool things to come out of Sweden, such as Millencolin, the Hives and Volvo.
Yes we said Volvo. While most people think that only dowdy, middle aged moms drive Volvos, we think that Volvos are pretty damn cool. We have fond memories of first seeing the yellow 850 turbo wagon and wanting one of our own. We still can't afford an 850, but we'll try to use our youthful charisma and charm to pick up any Volvo-driving MILFs. If that fails us (and it probably will), we'll start selling blood so that we can make a down-payment on a fine Volvo wagon.
Why the "sudden" interest in Volvo wagons? It's simple, really. Renowned German-based Volvo tuner, Heico Sportiv, has finally set up shop in the United States. Now, all owners of "boxy and good" station wagons can add some Nurburgring-tested performance parts to their Swedish machines.
Heico Sportiv has been around for over 30 years in Europe, and it is one of the land's most respected Volvo tuners. Seriously, this stuff is good. Volvo owners living in Germany (as well as IGN Overlord Peer Schneider) can only buy Heico goods through a Volvo dealer. If it's good enough for the factory, it's definitely good enough for us.
But we don't live in Germany, and we're sure that most of you don't live in there, either. Heico recognizes this, so the company set up partnerships with 21 export companies in Europe, Asia and (of course) the U.S. All parts are TUV certified and all of that other good stuff. Heico's goal is to give consumers the ability to tune their Volvos without sacrificing any of the reliability or quality of the stock Volvo.
