I'm sure I'm opening Pandora's Box here but the wife and I are looking to getting a laptop for very basic work and fun to use on our vacations or when I have to travel for work. We dont do much besides using Word, using the Internet and maybe the occasional game (like Stronghold or Solitare etc).
We've found a Pres Day sale on an Acer Aspire 3680-2022 for $449 which is in our wheelhouse of $500 or under. The only gripe I see about it on the webs is crappy battery life and they suggest upgrading to an 8cell.
I'll now open the floor for comments....
