Torco Race Fuel Concentrate

Post by drwrx »

Here is a link with the appropriate info:
http://www.need4speedpower.com/torco.html

I will sum-up as best I can:
Treatment Ratio with 32ozs of Accelerator

-97 Minimum Octane Race Fuel treat 20 Gallons of 93 octane minimum gasoline

-104 Minimum Octane Race Fuel treat 10 gallons of 93 octane minimum gasoline

-107 Minimum Octane Race Fuel treat 5 gallons of 93 octane minimum gasoline

-$85 for 6 cans = $14 a can

They have a WRX dyno chart from Axis Automotive's Dyno Dynamics (a fairly low reading dyno) that shows gains of 13 whp and about 16 ftlbs. just by adding 32 oz. That adds up to almost $1 per whp.

I'm certain you could get significantly more depending on your set-up.
Most people could easily add another 6-8 deg timing advance to take advantage of the 104 octane's burn rate, as well as running a leaner mixture of say 12-1. And if your turbo was still within it's efficiency margins you could also crank the boost a few lbs as well. Easily done for those of us with EBCs. Just imagine a SZ55 boosting to 25lbs with no fear of knock or dangerous lean condition. Can you say 400+ whp? I thought you could!

Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.

one of these days I'm going to get a custom tune for the AP and then I'll also get one for racing fuel.

You need a vf30/34/22 or TD05-16G, pinks and a fuel pump first!

race gas isn't worth the money for a stock turbo WRX? I don't see me going with a larger turbo/injectors/fuel pump any time soon. at least until the car is paid off...

Not really :( By the time that you get to the pressures that the race gas will help prevent detonation, you'll be blowing mostly hot air :(
