Re: Carmack talks about his ferrari tuning days.
Car and Driver had a feature story on his tuner several years ago. Carmack talked about his first Ferrari purchase. he was driving around in his Miata, working 18 hour days, 7 days a week on [IIRC] Doom 2. his father had to get something out of the glovebox of the Miata and found a stack of uncashed checks from id totaling something like $150,000. on his next drive home from work he passed a Ferrari dealer and decided to stop. they didn't treat him very well (young, shaggy guy in a Miata after all) but once they ran his credit he walked out with a new Ferrari.
I need to find that story to be sure I got all the facts strait, but that's pretty much how he told it to C&D.

Interesting read, thanks. The reasons behind not wanting to rebuild the motor are funny.
