lookie what teh Bush-man is up to now...

I have been ranting until I was blue in the face about how Google's mighty powers were going to be abused and civil liberties raped and tossed aside by our lovely government for some time now.

Even the concept of the article is a VERY slippery slope.

The good thing is, Google is trying to resist it as much as they can.

I'm really starting to get fed up with alot in this country and the world for that matter.

lol, not quite that bad ;) But taking a few oil platforms and creating my own country in the middle of national waters is appealing :)

^^^ Nope, I've been told by some that I am "unclearable" and others that it would be a "walk in the park", haha.

I guess I should just say with the present state of laws in this country and the financial abuse that politicians seem to think is part of the job.

Ben Franklin.. an idol for sure.

Anyway, does anyone else think that Google is really interested in protecting their data/trade secrets from the government (which I'm sure they are to a degree), or do you kind of think, as I suspect, that this is a brilliant marketing move aimed right at the hearts of their primary (not whole) audience, the open-minded, usually more liberal population? I'm sure their PR department is rife with diabolical minds. It's hard to say either way, but I suspect that this move was not made for 100% moral reasons.

Sorry... I'm a marketing major. Every time I read a story like this, the first thing I do is break down the angles. The business world is so damned cutthroat... which is probably why I'm in I.T. now...
