Subaru is introducing the 2010 Impreza WRX STI Special Edition and the 2010 Impreza WRX Limited models at the Los Angeles Auto Show, December 4-13 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Just when you thought there was nothing better than an STI, along comes the Special Edition. To commemorate our fourth consecutive Rally America championship, we created a more intense STI by eliminating anything that doesn't help it go fast. Then we added a Nurburgring-tuned JDM STI spec C suspension for razor-sharp handling, swapped the wheels for spec C alloys, and an exclusive run of only 125 built will come in Aspen White. The STI Special Edition offers the maximum in Subaru performance in a whole new way.

not sure I'd give up the HIDs for sway bars and rims, even at a $2k discount. especially knowing that this "limited edition" will be available in multiple colors by the end of the year.

So often, the tag of "Special Edition" comes with a not-so-special price increase. Fortunately for Subaru fans, the newly-introduced Impreza WRX STI Special Edition is actually less costly. At $32,995 it's actually $2,000 cheaper than the base price of the standard STI.

Of course, buyers of the Special Edition will have to go without certain features, namely HID headlights, premium audio, and automatic climate control. It's not just a de-contented package, though, as the car also comes with the suspension from the spec C model in Japan that includes a thicker rear stabilizer bar, stiffer bushings and stiffer springs.

Initially, each car will be painted in Aspen white with the charcoal-colored 14-spoke wheels also cribbed from the spec C. Just 125 examples will be built in the first quarter of 2010, although Subaru says that more will be available later in the year in additional colors.

One of the cars I chose was this STi... only I had no idea it was a special edition. Major fail on my part.

I was looking around the country last night to see if they were out there yet. There is 10 on the left coast as of last night. Nothing in between or on our side of the country yet.
Oh yeah, they are Black and White. I thought they were only supposed to be white? I checked the search and they are available in black,white,blue and grey. Hmmm? So much for the 125 Special units.

They are making their way across the country now. The closest ones are in tennesee and fla. We are supposed to be getting a grey one this/next month. I'm pretty stoked to see it in person. It's kinda strange that you can get a fully loaded WRX with leather,fogs,hids etc and the STI is now a "stripper".
