If you put both of those equations into y=mx+b format you'll see why - they are parallel, there is no 'solution'

minor hijack - found out last night that hard times has a tuesday "mug club"... $1.50/beer until 9pm if you buy the $5 mug. you can bring back the mug every tuesday.

not that i'm going to carry the mug with me to work every tuesday, but ... :p
