This was at our Mazda club meeting last night. Apparently the current owner heard this Miata was for sale and expressed interest in it to his wife, but when he called he was told that someone else was coming to look at it already and the seller would call him if that fell through. He said OK and then a couple days later got a call, and ended up buying it. The other potential buyer wanted the car, but didn't get his wife's approval beforehand, hence the license plate.
