Free downloadable picture resizer/editor

Post by sirwilliam »

I had a free downloadable picture resizer/editor on my old harddrive before it died. I am pretty sure I got the link from someone on hear. The name of the software is on my tongue (think it began w/ an N?) but it had a green icon. Maybe I am just halucinating. Let me know. Thanks.

The Gimp (As Chuckles pointed out) or GimpShop for those that know Photoshop buttons :)

For simple operations (conversions, resizes, etc) I recommend IrfanView. I use it for my photo processing workflow, very nice for batch conversions and renames.

For more complicated stuff (brushes, layers, actually changing the image) I recommend Gimp (as the guys said) or GimpShop (a port of gimp that looks and functions more like Photoshop, if you're more familiar with that).

Just heard about this as an alternative: XnView

Haven't used it but it's a "free graphic and photo viewer, converter and organizer".

I've used Infran-View as Jason recommended. For simple batch resizing and such, it rawks on teh windows.
