How about a pity comment? I can't tell you how many threads I've killed just by typing in them

I'm not sure what to say about the car. It's the same bullshit from a major manufacturer as usual. They take a platform, decrease the engine size slightly add an electric motor, and then the soccer mom or pseudo greenie driving down the road's conscience is releaved.

I'm a bit jaded on the hybrid car deal.

The good Dr. is right. And you can always assume someone's going to complain about a new car :)

Just wait till all the prius' need their batteries changed out. As soon as they do, anyone worth a damn in the Press should print a nice flamitory article on what happens to these AFTER they leave your car.

Give me variable compression, a variable vein turbo and direct injection and I'll beat any of these damn things in power and efficiency!

I figured out the problem with the prius yesterday, in my typically brilliant fashion. :)

If they'd put a 110hp, 1.3L 4-cyl in the car, stuck with the same low-cd body, wheel covers, etc., they'd get better mileage, and it would be cheaper to purchase and operate. And it would cause less environmental damage. But, it would be unremarkable. It would be no more remarkable than the Geo Metro was. So, they had to do something to make it special, or it wouldn't have sold a single unit. So they stuffed metric jiggatons of batteries and electric wtfronics in it, and now it's a hybrid. Heavens to Betsy, I had better go buy me one of those right friggin now.

Except, wait. Now, it gets worse mileage, costs twice as much, and adds horrendous stuff to the landfills that a simple petrol car wouldn't have.

What?
