2010 Spyker C8 Aileron

Post by Libra Monkee »

It's named after airplane parts and looks like it could go through time.

The Spyker C8 Aileron will use the Audi 4.2 litre V8 engine, giving 400 bhp and will be available with two transmission alternatives. The first one is a 6-speed Getrag manual gearbox, with ratios perfectly matched to the V8 engine. This is joined by a ZF 6-speed automatic gearbox, which comes standard with paddle shifts behind the steering wheel, to progress smoothly through the ratios. Both transmissions retain Spyker’s trademark exposed gear change mechanism.

Agreed. If it wasn't for those circular intakes all over the body, I'd rock it.

No kidding. It really needs FIVE intake vents. I wonder if there will be an option to remove it? All the Spykers have slightly odd styling, but that'll keep 'em looking!

the problem is that if you take away the crazy intakes it starts to look pretty plain, almost kit car-ish.

the last spyker, the one on top gear, british racing green with chrome accents? aaaaaagh. it didn't seem to do anything especially well. the looks were outstanding only in that they were really different, performance was so-so, gearbox was so-so, handling was not even "neutral tending towards understeer" or "manageable understeer" or "oversteer on tap".it was just kinda understeerish, neutralish, uglyish but different, green which is neat, but by god the chrome, and the leather was pretty. it did have lots of (naturally aspirated) power, but it was still only barely faster than an evo, and an evo fq would kill it.

Huh? Clarkson called it "dutch schizophrenia." I think that's about right. In a way it kind of reminds me of that new wacky chinese MG.

(boy, much as it's a pain in the ass to keep all the storage for stuff like TG around, it's nice to be able to just search for "spyker" in spotlight, pull out frames, and crop at will.)

Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.
