2009 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Concept

Post by Libra Monkee »

Well, the badge is nice! The rest of the car needs to be fixed. But much like the Camaro concept, this will be making it's big screen debut in the new Transformers movie as Sideswipe.

I really like it. The weird headlamps and the split window probably won't stay. I think it's a pretty stylish ride.

It looks... overstyled? Like it has a body kit slapped over a C6 Corvette body (which it probably does).

Looks like a Vette, a Lamborghini Reventon and a TVR had a love fest.

Honestly, I don't think it's bad. It's what I imagine a Vette would look like in 10 years.

I don't like the grill very much (too plain), but the rest of the car is a nice interpretation.

back end is beautiful. odd and cockpitty, just like a stingray should.

front end kind of looks like a cadillac xlr. not in a good way. plus it looks like a face with that toothy grill. moderately disturbing.

I never noticed that until you said it. The straight on front view really gives it that look. That's insane

Since I was about 5 years old, I wanted a '78 Stingray, t-tops, in burnt orange... I dunno why. This is a car that I will own before I die. This new one is pretty, but it just wouldn't scratch the itch.

I concur. The Grille is a little to "Grinny" for my taste  All-in-all good stuff.

first thought: meh, prolly won't sell well in .au.

second thought: there doesn't seem to be a lot of underbody work so either this is a serious mule or it's not intended to spend much time above 200. topside looks very, very enzo which is great for speed, btu the bottom side looks like lift, and that's a bad combination. especially if they want to top what they've got today.

third: that emblem.... belongs on something on naboo..... with somebody blurting out meesa got a buh-buh-bio-DEE-cell reeACTOR and thirteenity-four TURBO lasers! honk!

<bow />

overall i want to know if they'll still be using pushrods in ten years.

in all fairness, it's where GM said they were going with the Evoq, and they've gone and done it... I wasn't a member of DCAWD when the Evoq came out (was anyone??), but everyone I knew sure got a chubby looking at the Evoq.

Isn't that basically what the XLR became? I don't necessarily associate the two grill styles. The blocky nose jerb, sure.

She's one of those "I'm happier to watch you leave than watch you walk in" girls... IMHO.

I really like it. Sort of reminds me of the Cadillac Sixteen.

yes and no. the evoq was cadillac saying "this is the direction we're going." for a while there was a twin-paxton v-16 engie just to show that they " meant business." the big, chunky fenders and grile, giant haunches, etc. notice even the marmalade has a lot of "evoq inside".

personally, i'd be surprised to see a vette in ten years.
