Yeah, I have been checking out a few of the SATA thumb drives. Pretty sweet only problem is the standard connections on PCs are inside the pc which is a PITA to have to keep taking the case apart. They also have the SATA/USB thumb drives which solves half of the problem but then you get a reduction in speed. Standards will change.

Grab an eSATA connector that runs to the backplate of your machine. That solves the external SATA problem

Yes, I know that, silly. I am talking about going to other machines that you don't know what external plate connectors they have...standard config on new machines is just USB external and SATA internal. I think that will change soon, though.
