I hate having to go through rearrange all of my apps and redo all of my settings back to the way it was before the upgrade (which is I hadn't done the update yet) the whole process took about two hours. BUT, I'm on 2.2 now so what's the big whup?
That's been my take as well. "Oooh, google street view. "

beats me. i started at 2.2. i hear it's more stable. doesn't seem any moreso than my coworker's 2g with 2.1.

Well a couple of things I noticed just playing around with it.

1) The aforewritten streetview
2) Multiple App Store updates can be downloaded all at once (make sure the phone is plugged to something)
3) You can get podcasts from the iTunes Store
4) there are now 5 pages for Apps

downloaded sbsettings last night after reading some schtuffs on it. works pretty well. it's nice to have multiple toggles (wifi, edge, 3g, bt, etc.) in one ui.

^^^ Been using Bossprefs for that. But I hear this program is supposed to be replacing Bossprefs. It certainly is prettier. For what that's worth.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Do not tell me about katamari.

also, last.fm radio is pretty rad. i used them a lot in the past but just for stats. i like their algorithm for finding interesting songs more than pandora... but the low-bandwidth streaming in pandora works better on my 1st gen phone. oh well.

Was excited about Katamari until I read that once your Katamari gets to be a decent size the iphone can't handle the graphics load anymore. They didn't really scale it. If you pick it and notice that this isn't true then lemme know!!

+1 for Topple as well.....tons of fun.

God I feel like a loser....I still haven't jailbroken this thing. I keep reading about people who have and then they have a wonderful, fully functioning iPod (i.e., they lose their phone service....no bars, no carrier notification). Don't want that. First freaking cell phone that I haven't "customized" in some way. I'm sure Ben and Colin remember introducing me to hofo. :)

Not true anymore. The updated version that I downloaded does not slow at all. A brief fuzz between leveling ups (1 - 2 seconds max) and you keep right on rolling. It plays quite well IMHO.

d00d, you have to at least jailbreak it, if not unlock it. I wouldn't own an apple product if I had to keep it stock. In project mayhem, you determine your own level of involvement. 8)

Many thanks for the update on Katamari - will be picking that up now, that's for sure. And I hear ya on the jailbreaking thing - just need to bite the bullet and do it. Anyone married to a PC (since that's what I'd be jailbreaking from) that wants to take a few minutes and list what they used and how the process went for them? I'm assuming it will be a QuickPwn situation but would be nice to hear "yeah, I did that from my PC and it worked just fine!!" :) God I'm lame...............
