Cobb Stage I on a GT-R

Post by Sabre »

For those of you who have followed Bruce Chapman's build on his STI, you will probably know that he pruchased a GT-R. He took it to XXTuning and had a remote tune done with Cobb. The results, for nothing more than a tune and keeping everything else stock, are outstanding!. Full Story if anyone is interested.

Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.

Wow. he does some good writeups.

Major props to Cobb for the custom tuning service. I wonder what they'll get him from a Stage-II since they got 80hp at the hubs from a Stage-I.

My guess is a stage 2 won't be a significant jump. Even if an intake and exhausts gain another 40whp/lbft. does that really mean much at 512hp/496lbft? So will 552 whp / 536 lbft cut another .1 second off 0-60 or .2 off the 1/4 or add another 4 mph to the trap? I would guess not. Not that you shouldn't try mind you!

at that price point, i don't think the owner cares about shelling out a bit more loot to get a bit more power. chump change.

Probably true. It sounds like we'll know for sure shortly :D

I only mentioned because Neanderthal indicated in one of his posts that he intends to order the Cobb exhaust anyway.
