left 4 dead

Post by chicken n waffles »

wow.

if you like the half life 2 source engine, and you like zombies (of sorts), and you like multiplayer "co-op" game play ala serious sam (pure adrenaline chaos), get this game.

http://www.l4d.com/

it's sort of like half-life 2 meets 28 days later. zombies (well they're not really zombies, they're infected with some variant of "rage") are very fast and very strong. all out shoot 'em up madness. AND, there is a co-op game where you can play as either the human survivors OR the infected. very little strategy involved, but it sure is a good stress reliever after a long day at the office. f'ing fun as hell so far.

I didn't know anything about this until Will mentioned it a while back. they should have released this in early October to take advantage of the Halloween holiday. I tried out the XB360 demo, it was pretty cool. but then again it is a Valve game. 8)

this game is still massive amounts of fun. as if that isn't enough to satiate the zombie-destroying needs of nerds everywhere, valve has announced left 4 dead 2 due out later this year!

Set for release on November 17, the title adds melee combat to enable deeper co-operative gameplay, with items such as a chainsaw, frying pan, axe, baseball bat, and more.
