Blackberry Bold Coming to AT&T Oct 2

Post by Libra Monkee »

Since I'm not completely sold on the iPhone just yet (though I'm getting close) I'm still waiting to see what this'll do when it's released. But regardless of the phone the first two comments had me in tears.

They remind me of the Empire. I love that.
What does it for you? The whole we-have-the-Death-Star-for-a-logo thing, or the whole we-are-imperialist-pigs-who-give-all-your-data-to-the-NSA thing?

Either way, I find their apparent lack of 3G signal (propagation) disturbing.

Would you like to know more?

i don't care if you'd like to know more, but i'm linking you anyway.
Is it the Storm or the Thunder? I always get confused.

Either way, it's still the 9530 and a blatant iPhone rip-off. All reports say the ThunderStorm will be exclusive to Verizon starting Oct 13th. Oh, and it won't have Wifi. LAME!

i don't care what it'll be named, and i don't care if it is an iphone "rip off" (as if apple never stole any ideas from anyone). and not having wifi is not a deal breaker. in fact, i honestly don't even care.

I'm not saying that it being an iPhone rip off is a bad thing. On the contrary, I think it's good choice on RIMs part if they want to stay competitive in the business/ consumer (excluding government) markets. However, if you're building a device that's obviously meant to stand across the ring from the iPhone titan, you might want to put a little a/b/g/n antenna in there. Rather than restrict everything to EVDO. But then again this is Verizon. Maybe another version will eventually come out on another network with different functionality.

yar. it's verizon. i'd be willing to bet that they had some say in the lack of wifi antenna in the device, since it'll be a vzw-exclusive phone for who the hell knows how long. oh well. not a deal breaker for me. just hope it doesn't suck. my t-mo contract's up in december, and i'll have some tasty options *grin*.
