Asus is next on my stabbing list.

Post by Libra Monkee »

No sooner than I finish disposing of the waste from my last Stabfest '08 rampage does the chipset fan in my computer die on me. I say to myself "Well I'll just go Asus' website and buy a new one." So I go to the website (on a working computer of course), I see new fans are only $7.50, I click buy, then I get a message saying that they're out of stock. I send them a message asking when they expect more and a I get this in return:
Name:
Chipset Fan
Item#:
13-070187000
Price/ea.
$7.50

8/12 our chipset fans are out of stock at this time, our next shipment is due to arrive in approximately 3-5 weeks from now.

Please wait to check availability after September, Thank you for your pateince and understanding.

Thank you,
eStore Customer Service
After September! Are you :censor:ing me!!!??? I try to calm myself down. I think "Screw it! I'll just buy one off eBay" So I go to eBay and the cheapest thing I find is this:
ASUS® Chipset Heatsink/Fan for A8N-E/SLI Deluxe/Premium
This seller accepts PayPal Buy It Now $19.99 +$4.99
So I can either wait until Oct :censor:ing tober to use my computer again or spend twenty-five damn dollars on a :censor:ing chipset fan.

True dat! ;) But this was my main game playing/ file serving/ iTunes Library storing/ 64bit processing/.75TB storage having machine. Now I've had to fail over to a machine that's not quite as robust. This thing still has a single core processor in it?!?!

I considered water cooling my 360. unlike my PC it really could use it but the project was just too expensive for a console. :|
