Soul Calibur IV

Post by Mr Kleen »

anybody else playing? I snagged the PS3 version. I just played a few hours the other night but so far I'm really diggin' it. the fighter creation is a LOT deeper than it was before. the story still makes no sense but then again it is a fighting game.

Two things that don't need story lines: fighting games and pr0n. :)

I'm surprised how well the series has held up.

I need some help from an SC expert: I can't beat the arcade mode. to unlock "the Apprentice" you have to beat the arcade mode with Darth Vader (Yoda for the 360) but I can't get past stage 7 (that also happens to be the Apprentice). I even tried with Voldo and can't beat him 2 of 3. also you can't modify the CPU skill level or the number of rounds in the fight.

stage 7 goes like this EVERY TIME:
Fight 1: I win with 50 - 75% of my health intact
Fight 2: I loose a close fight
Fight 3: the Apprentice defeats me with a perfect (occasionally I'll get in a single hit)

I'm pretty adept at Soul Calibur. I might be able to help you out there.

I played around with the equipment and skill system. there's a lot of stuff going on if you really get into it. I'm not quite good enough to unlock all of the skills and equipment but it's a neat way to add depth to a fighting game without compromising the core gameplay.

Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.
