Engine choices include either a 296 hp, 3.6-liter V6 or a 416 hp 6.2-liter V8 which will feature cylinder deactivation to boost fuel economy.
oontz.
Underneath the retro sheetmetal is a full independent suspension
oontz. that alone will give ford nightmares i imagine (and hope).
and StabiliTrak traction control system. Four-pot Brembo brakes are mounted up front on the SS variant, and the 3,700-pound coupe will reportedly have a weight balance of 52/48, front/rear. The neuvo-retro theme is carried inside with a gauge cluster inspired by the 1969 model, along with leather seats and blue LED lighting.
still heavy, but my inner redneck hopes the to-be-released specs are worthy of oontz. i can't believe i said that about a modern-day chevy. *blows brains out*

now i'll sit back and wait for the naysayers to chime in.

I only have 2 issues: 3700lbs; and where do you go stylistically after introducing a retro design? Ford is copying the next generation Boss Mustang with their refresh. I hope this doesn't mean a return to the Fox body style a few years down the road.

other than that it's nice to see another semi-affordable sports car on the market. especially one with a suspension setup less than 70 years old. :rolllaugh:

Ok, ok, ok, I get it. Retro. Really, I understand. But I want to see a shaker hood and big old circular air filters, and when I take both those guys off (because you'd have two, see). I want to see something resembling two 4bbl caburettors. Can you imagine the Csaba Csere review of a Camaro that gave him a stiffy like that? You don't gotta actually make carbs, but eight throttle bodies in four roughly circular enclosures attached to a vaguely Edelbrock manifold (or, hell, even license it) would just shove that retro styling so far up our collective asses even I might be inclined to buy into it.

attach it to something like the already gorgeous WS-6 hood:

Otherwise, @auto_manufacturers, I am unamused by your attempts to tickle my mid-life crisis fifteen years too early, by your attempts to pander to my parents, who have already had their crises. I'm pretty easily swayed: fast enough to scare me to death, so uncomplicated as to leave that possibility squarely in my hands, and a cost something like half-to-a-year's pay.

Instead, they're plastic caricatures, looking as much like the original cars as Jean Grey actually looks like a real woman. (In Marvel's defence, a long time ago, she and Rogue actually had a somewhat more realistic body type)

I think this is why these days I'm tending towards motorcycles (and why in particular, the BMW's, the Hypermotard, and the Buells do so do it for me)... They don't apologize for what they are, what they look like, what they do, what they sound like, and they will scare the everliving shit outta you if you're not careful. Just like a 60's and 70's muscle car would. On the other hand, if anyone sees me at the next meet, they'll see the problem with that. :(

Really? My biggest concern was it had two orifices.

Saw an SRT8 version up in CT this weekend.... My first impression was: Wow, the back is a lot shorter than I thought it would be. Good looking car, that's for sure, but I think they should have looked at it a *little* bit longer and realized that they needed to massage the body a little more.

Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.
