So the battle is on. Under the new NSX's hood will be a 4.5-liter or 5.0-liter V-10 that will produce at least 450 naturally aspirated bhp (we hear 500). It will probably feature SH-AWD, but there's still the possibility of rear-wheel drive. The car will be making its debut sometime in late 2009 or 2010, with a price just north of $100,000.
OK it's cool, and I'm sure it will be very quick. But in the end I'm not sure about this thing. 450-500 bhp, $100,000, due out in 2009 or 2010. So 2 years too late and $30,000 too much.

I don't know why, but I'm not all that excited.

Yea, I'll agree with that... it won't be the GTR, so why pay the extra cash.

i know why i'm not excited. price AND it bares no resemblance to the only car that should have the right to call itself NSX.

I still dream of owning one of these someday. Yet even on the used car market, these things are still expensive. :(

I drove one "back in the day" and I liked it a lot.

But then I drove a Mazda RX7 and a Toyota Supra Turbo and my opinion of the NSX began to drop.

Again, I'm not knocking it, but either of those two could match it on a track and do it for significantly less coin and you could actually mod those and get huge power with little out of pocket. You can't say that about the NSX.

this is true, but this is one of those cases where form matters as much as function... to me, at least.

the GT-R is the new yardstick. I bet it will be comparable with the base GT-R with a Type-R version to battle the SpecV GT-R. just like the Toyota guys are [still] revamping the LFA.

that said I can't get too excited about a car that I won't be able to own even used. unless it's an absolute work of art.

Yep, I couldn't fool Chuck. It is the new 357Z!

Sure as heck looks like a Nissan but, no, it is the new NSX, unfortunately.

Yeah. It looks just like a Z. Not really a bad thing, but a Z is a lot cheaper, and the NSX is not going to be a GTR beater, sorry Honda.

you sound like the Porsche guys last year, speaking about the impending GT-R.

I wish Honda would build a RWD competitor to the upcoming Silvia and Subaru/Toyota coupes.
