I want to know who was the first guy to figure out that you can do this with a front end loader...

Re: Cat Power (bandwidth warning)
back when my dad lived in virginia and worked for a landscaping company, he used to get front end loaders into some of the strangest places and positions i've ever seen, not the least of which was on top of a structurally-sound shack to grab some dirt from the other side of a giant fence. mind you, it would've taken half the time to get a crew to walk around the fence and throw some dirt into a wheelbarrow, but it would've only been 3% as completely awesome.

When I visited my father in England, we had a chance to go to the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate. Its like their version of the Iowa State Fair. The event of the year for agricultural demonstration.
Anyway, what this reminded me of was this demonstration of the Caterpillar rival JBC and their 'Dancing Diggers'. It really was a long, impressive show. Kinda reminiscent of the Blue Angels in slow-motion. Only about half as dangerous, but the choreography is almost as impressive, as is the equipment.
Here's a highlight reel from youtube. Enjoy.

Give a country boy enough time and beer - something cool will happen.
