Is this pipe worth $100?

Post by Mr Kleen »

the guy is asking $100 shipped for this 2.5" intermediate pipe. nobody bought it when he posted on NASIOC a while back. I'm thinking I might offer him $80 for it, but that rear flange has be a little worried. not sure why he's selling it.

Ask him why he's selling it, it can't hurt :) Ya, if it didn't sell the first time, I would offer him 80$ shipped :) At this point he just wants to get ride of it I'm sure. BTW, so so we're clear which pipe this is:

Turbo->Down pipe->Mid Pipe->Intermediate pipe->Muffler

I thought you needed a mid pipe for some reason. The reason that flange looks strange is because it is made to mount to the stock donut gasket.

I wasn't sure what to call it at first, I think I might have posted a while back about a mid-pipe. I keep forgetting that there's 4 sections down there... I need a 2.5" pipe to connect the stock cat to my TXS muffler. something without the extra bends and resonator section. but then again, how much power could this really add and how much sound volume will it add? the exhaust doesn't need to be any louder as long as I live in NoVA. :roll:

With your choice of future engine and turbo upgrades ( crickets....) the stock turbo won't be pushing enough exhaust to warrant changing any more pipes than you already have. There would be gains, but you will notice the sound increase over the performance increase.

My opinion.

sort of what I was thinking after I took a step back and thought about it. better to spend that money on a rear sway.

I agree with you both :) As long as you are not swaping out the turbo, there isn't going to be enough gained for you swaping out this last part. I noticed a huge gain with the DP/MP, but from there back there wasn't much gained at all.

Gabe, I have an extra 3" bosal intermediate pipe that will bolt up to the stock midpipe. You would need a 3" axle-back muffler though. Maybe just pick-up a Stromung or a Daddy's.

I purchased it used from a buddy of mine down in Richmond who had it on his car for 1 week. I have never put it on my car as I already had one. I was just buying his axle-back.

Let me know if you want to take a look at it. I won't be able to make it to the meet tomorrow, but I'm sure we can set something up.

Yep, the code reader is dead as a door nail.
No warranty, no options.
Tough Luck, thank you for playing.
It lasted 2 years and cost $50.
At some point I guess I'll have to pick-up another.
