Now that's a good looking car.

I'm not feeling it
I'm going to spare you all the small list of cars it strongly reminds me of.

no, tell us. i'm curious to hear all opinions. i think it's vaguely reminiscent of a lexus and/or acura (from the front, at least).

Inevitably someone posts something along these lines, and it doesn't really matter what I personally think, but here goes:
First I noticed that the side has remarkable similarity to the Lexus IS, which I don't care for. Then my eyes went to the Saturn Sky headlamps (I walk past one in the garage every morning, so that doesn't help), and finally, I looked at a picture of the rear-end... which is growing on me the more I look at it, and it only most closely resembles the Mazda 3 anyhow.
The tail lamp design is very "flower petal", but in a good way. I like!
I am sure I will love these once I see one in person.

headlights do remind me of the Sky but I'm OK with that. I also see the sharply creased character line being reminiscent of the new Lexus "design language" but again I'm OK with that. now is it too much to ask that Mazda make this a RWD with a nice displacement V6?

truf.
wrong wheel drive on this car = puke
and if it's the same duratec v6 as found in the 04 model, it has NO POWER under 3000rpm.

Let Mazdaspeed get their hands on it w/ the AWD, 6spd, and give it 300+BHP/TQ....

Yes, at that point it can have whatever headlamps it wants.

I would never buy a mazda unless:
-It is a miata
And/or
-It is a Mazdaspeed variant
And
-It has AWD.

Sorry, I will definitely pass on the wankle.
Don't get me wrong. The car looks good and the suspension on that is great but the engine doesn't cut it for me.

Are they just taking some time to develop a new engine for it though, or something?

That is definitely a very nice looking car.... makes me wish the new WRX had taken cues from this car
