Forza 2 AI

Post by Cereb Daithi »

Is anyone else absolutely fed up with the crappy AI in forza 2? I thought it was supposed to be adaptive and intelligent? Before it came out guys were talking about how you could brake check them and they would get nervous and hang back a little more than usual and such... not true... screw emotions, I'd be happy to get just intelligent drivers!

For example, I'll pass the AI and immediately enter a turn. Midapex the AI comes outa nowhere and pulls a PIT maneuver. I've had this happen several times and though.. "oh maybe it's just angry and getting back at me for something". but then out of curiosity I turned on the "racing line" and it was just trying to follow it's line.

I've also had it run me off the road. I'll be set up for a better racing line, we'll say on the inside. The AI had floated to the outside a bit. We'll be side by side and right before the turn the AI will side-swipe me and knock me off the track because it's going to the best fit line.

Just wondering if anyone else is as fed up with it as I am (doing a R1 class race and I keep getting knocked off the track by the AI within the first few turns since I get started in 4th)

same issues here. they will pit you but it's very difficult to pit them in return. they also have no qualms with ramming you even if you get position on them.

Yeah! that's another one of my gripes.. I'll be racing and we'll all be in R-1 class or so. For career I race in Manual with all assists turned off. So obviously my launch consists of a lot of burning out for those high-powered FR/MR cars. The AI uses TCS, STM, AND ABS. They can pit me and send me flying in circles off the track. The last time I tried to pit them, their back end slid out of the way, slowed me down and forced my back end to get loose, and they recovered in a split second and drove away like nothing happened. The ramming is annoying as hell too. I was racing one of the slowest cars on the field and managed to pass a faster car. We were on a straight away and I was right in his racing line. Instead of hanging back until he could pass me, the 'trad just gunned the engine and rammed straight into my back end kicking my rear loose. He proceeded to do so until finally I lost control and he flew past sending me into 2 other cars in the field which were happy to t-bone me

I never really cared about it much in the beginning since I was driving cars that kicked the snot out of the AI's rides... but now that I'm in the evenly matched classes and factory spec races, those first turn pileups become 10th, 20th, 40th, turn pileups.

Yeah it definately pisses me off when I get position and they just "drive through me". If the ai was that advanced I would think that the driver could figure out that its bad to cause an accident and do damage to your vehicle. Maybe I'll have to try that on the highway sometime. Just bulldozz people out of my "line".
