Yes it's locked sadly. There are enough floating around though, you should be able to find one.

As for DiRT.. If you are into a more arcade racer than yes it's more fun. The Physics in dirt are terrible though. They are based off the center of the car rather than off the wheels so they have a very floaty feel. I couldn't wait for dirt to come out but now that i've had a chance to see all it's flaws I'm really disappointed. They opted to make it easier to play to appeal to a larger crowd which, as a business move, makes sense.. but it doesn't mean i have to be satisfied! If you want a real rally experience pick up Richard Burns Rally. It's already an amazing game and you can grab a few mods to make it even more hyper-realistic.

I guess I should say. Forza is only for those who REALLY like cars and racing. It's not a casual "pick up and play" game. If your idea of fun is speeding through crowded city streets in an evo.. then no.. this isn't for you. But if 3 laps around the nurburgring in a Porsche is your thing.. then you'll love this game.

i am going to assume that was not meant hurtfully, but, i can't stand the physics in forza and anyone who believes they are realistic is on crack and needs to share, when a base miata does nothing but spin no matter how little throttle you give it is realistic i need to be what they are on.

nothing like installing a 2 way lsd into a FWD

or a driveshaft in a MR

if you want real physics and want to claim a game is specifcally for racers then look no further than Rfactor or GTR2. THOSE are real physics games, at least as close as you can get in a video game.

the physics in Forza 2 are pretty good for a console. I'd put it on par with the last Gran Turismo. RFactor is very cool but my poor PC can't run it well enough for my tastes.

and I think I speak for the other Forza 2 players here when I say that we understood that you didn't like Forza 2 after your first post slamming Forza 2 in the Forza 2 pix thread.

It's quite alright. The man has an opinion. And I'm not saying Forza 2 has the best physics in the world. If you want that go for RFactor or something similar (there is another hyper-realistic one but the name escapes me at the moment)

But anyways we should end this so the Forza 2 pics thread isnt full of us talking about physics. If you'd like to continue the debate feel free to start another thread and I'll be happy to continue.

FYI: this thread was split off from the Forza 2 custom paint thread (56k no-go) thread.
