OS X display help

Post by Cereb Daithi »

Here is my situation. I have a 2nd smaller screen hooked up to my G5. Whilst messing with the 2nd display trying to get it set to a decent resolution... it "over-range"d it. I waited the 15 seconds and it reverted to it's original settings. I tried another one and was still over-range. While waiting for it to revert i went to close a program behind the system tools window... but accidentally bumped the system tools close button. Noob mistake I know. Doing so canceled the 15 second revert so now it's stuck in a resolution that the display can't put out... result is.. black screen. Now my 2nd display just b**ches about "over range" and I can't see what the hell is on that screen.

Is there some way to modify the settings of the other screen from my one working one or reset them so I don't have to have a useless screen?

I tried zapping PRAM and it didnt seem to work. I'll try again though.

scratch that. I forgot about shift-boot. Mac had a roar and then all seemed to be fine!

Glad to see it got resolved :) Ya, those fans can be a bit on the loud side... Some of the new HP servers when on full on are insane!

Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.
