Is it possible to be TOO happy with your STi?

Post by Cereb Daithi »

Well I'm sorry but after today I have to make a complaint.

Every day that I go into class, my drive takes me past the Monroeville Penzoil. well all issues that most of you have with penzoil aside... one of the employees there owns an STi. Ok neat... its modded..FMIC etc. Heres that part that is causing me to make a grumpy post about it.

Literally EVERY day this guy has his car sitting in front of the penzoil along the highway with the hood open and he is working on it. (not kidding.. 5 out of 5 days i drove past this week..there he was and its been the same story for the last month and a half) Today it was raining... so he simply was content to pop his hood open and watch as cars go by.... i mean god forbid this guy actually works...hes just standing by his car every time i drive past. ironically enough the only pic i have is when he ran inside to most likely go to the bathroom because traffic wasnt too heavy at the moment.... my buddy with the GC8 took off at the stoplight.. borla headers and catback doing their job and making his car sound like the sexy boxer beast it is... the guy and the young kid on the bike he was bragging to both look up...the STi dude looks kind of annoyed haha.... am i worng in getting pissed off at people like this who only seem to ever care about their image and showing their car off to as many people as they can?

anyways heres the previously mentioned pic

correct me if i'm wrong, but the only way that car is an sti (as opposed to just a wrx) is if he did a swap.

lol, don't... Even though some of us might know a little more than others, we're all still learning :)

my buddy and i with the GC8 are considering stopping by there and seeing if he trys to call the GC8 an STi.. it has all the markings badges seats accessories, hell even has a jdm sti dash....even has the beefy rumble. just not the hp.

on a side note...god would i still love to turn that GC8 into a true monster.

haha a little update. one of my buddies stopped by to laugh at this guy...

he actually was 100% positive that it WAS an STi. kept trying to say "no this an STi"

he has big ricey STi decals running from the quarterpanels back to the rear. the inside is trashy, and according to my friend he has a BOV flopping arouund loose in the engine bay....

this makes me sad

i worked on my car damn near every day in college, because i had a 7a-1p class in the shop. i was actually struggling to "come up with mods" by the time i got out of there.

UPDATE:

I was sitting in a McDonals wearing my Subaru World Rally Team jacket. Young guy comes in with a subaru winter cap on. i give him a nod since i figured he was also a subaru owner. he comes over and we start to talk. turns out he is the owner of the car.

Apparently he's not the one that did the mods. He wants to turn it back to its original look but just hasnt had the effort yet. the BOV really IS fopping around on the end of a rubber hose in the engine bay. The front brakes are 4 pot cobb upgrades... the real bad thing is.... its a FMIC with a stock WRX turbo... i looked up at the kid and inquired "lag?". he just hung his head and quietly lamented a "yes..."

found it funny that i bumped into him after all this time though.
