07 STI with just a TopSpeed tune...

Post by Sabre »

Read all about it
With everything stock but the tune, they managed to get 277WHP/337WTQ. Makes me VERY eager to see the 08's...

topspeed tunes suck. Their WOT map rocks, but everything else is just crap. Doug tunes for numbers, and numbers alone.

I would rather wait for the 08/09 Legacy GTs to roll around w/ 6spd and larger turbo :D

I am really irritated that he is not saying how he's accomplishing it. My guess is he is really pounding the boost in the low-mid range, and hoping the turbo retains some of that speed as you go up to redline. The problem with that is that it's out of the turbo's efficiency range, and the car will behave there and only there. So, great, for 3500-5000 rpm, but you're hung out to dry outside that range. Some people don't want that for the street, some people do. Either way, it's hard power to wield.

I don't think it's cool of him at all to keep quiet about what he's done. It makes him seem dishonest. It's not like the car is any big secret or anything, so claiming what he's done is proprietary is fishy to me.

Yep, he's only the first to come out saying he has tuned it too. Just wait a couple of months... when more tuners get ahold of the 07's, I'm guessing they'll come out with similar numbers.
