Here's the rant: linky.The latest fiasco is the recent revelation that Sony's Blu-ray player for the PC will not have the ability to play HD movies on the PC. This is to protect the interests of the movie makers somehow. Are they kidding us?

What reason do I have to buy a blu-ray drive for my PC then? I think that they are not allowing them to play movies on the PC because it would be SO much cheaper than buying a stand alone Blu-Ray player. Those suckers are going for 1000$ right now and they are not that good according to the articles that you (Alan) posted up.
Freaking big mistake.... I'm only buying a PS3 because it doubles as a Blu-Ray player and a gaming console.

i have never owned a sony game console and i never intend to. i dislike sony and it hink they are banking ont he fact that PS2 was so popular... they think they have a dedicated consumer base... which i why they dont seem to be worried how expensive their PS3s are... the trouble is.. all those people that bought PS2s were casual gamers that a) dont really play anymore and b) dont wana spend all that cash for a system they probably wont play that much.... curse you sony... im happy with my 360 and look forward to the wii... maybe someday ill buy a PS3 but it wont be anytime soon.
