EVO1VED to R3D_RUMM
Hello All...!
It's Luke... (EVO1VED)
For those that remember me, WHHAAAAAAT UPPP!!!
A kind Hello to those I haven't met yet (which is a lot b/c DCAWD has grown like crazy since I was an oldie regular!!!)
Glad to see the club is growing and that things are going more than well!
...I have crossed over so I am no longer the "Token EVO guy" which that only worked for the first few months anyways till the other EVo dudes started chillin with you guys.
I no longer have my EVO (sadness), actually haven't had it for almost a year. I was humbled by driving a 92 beaten up accord with 240K plus miles for a while.
I now have an 06 San Remo Red WRX LTD. and am very happy with it!! In fact I totally love this car! I will be keeping it stock for some time (Yes Julian I think I can hold out! lol)
But I had to change my screen name as EVO1VED doesn't really fit with me being a SUBY owner now. So I have changed it to R3D_RUMM which should be my new plate's if VA passes and appoves (maybe not) lol.
Again... hope all is well with everyone and looking forward to see my old pals again!
Later!
Luke

Lol... I totally loved my EVO, but it's a shame that a good majority of EVO owners don't even appreciate the details of the cars' build. Mainly the name and weird popularity that Fast and the Furious gave it... hence, all the sideways caps and pant's draggin to the floor type folks that stand next to their ride and not say hello to the other's tend to give them a bad name.
Subaru owners seem to have a greater appreciation for their cars in the proper way. Now there is that crowd of EVO owners that have that same level of appreciation.
Luke

Come on, with 300whp only a turbo, exhaust and a Cobb Accessport away. . . it's so close. . . you can just taste it.R3D_RUMM wrote:I will be keeping it stock for some time.

After MUCH research I have concluded the following formula for a 300whp 06 WRX.
1. Cobb AccessPort
2. Turbo-back exhaust
3. vf30/34/39/22 or TD05 Big 16G (w/ proper tune)
=300 whp & 320 ftlbs (dynojet)
Now, change #3 to a TD06 20G (keep boost sane) and add a fuel pump and . . .
340 whp & 350 ftlbs (dynojet)
A bigger intercooler wouldn't hurt at that point, but with the ebay / ssautochrome set-ups going so cheap that is hardly a problem.

Are they still selling those intercoolers? I thought TurboXS stoped them! I'd be glad to see it if they still were selling them!

1. Turbo-back exhaust: catless down pipes as little as $120 on ebay, catted $350 (helix) cat-backs run as little as $200 but as much as $900 (look for used and listen to what other people have to find what you like.)R3D_RUMM wrote:what's apporx. price for each item?
2. Cobb Accessport: $645 (some places will sell it for less)
3. vf30/34/39/22: $800 new / $400-500 used. TD05 big16G $600 new
4. TD05/06 18G: $899 (slowboy / FP / deadbolt)
5. TD06 20G: $1140-1150 (blouch and slowboy racing)
6. fuel pump $100
7. The ebay / ssautochrome TMICs go for $300
The Accessport comes with a vf39 map and an 18G Map.
the 20G would require a dyno tune, but there are several local places that do it and with a base map it would take less than 2 hours so $350 or so.

WOW! What dyno did you hit 285 whp? That is amazing for the TD04! The best stock turbo WRX number I have ever seen was 245whp.Mr Kleen wrote:so even with the new 2.5 a WRX can't make 300 with the stock turbo? my 2.0 makes 285.
Wait, I see the problem. 300 whp (wheel horse power) vs 300 bhp (brake horse power). Perhaps I wasn't clear before, the formula above is for 300-340 whp which would be close to 360-400 bhp.
