EDIT 7/7: caravan meeting at Hard Times parking lot at 6:30 AM Saturday to head to Summit Point.
EDIT 6/25: Updated HyperDrive link. I signed up for mine tonight (finally).
EDIT: bump! this is getting close. we need to register THIS WEEK.
sure it's early to talk about HyperFest, but I'm looking forward to it!
I'm not going to run in the HPDE but I think I'm going to sign up for the HyperDrive. $40 for one HPDE class room session and one track session. this will give me an idea of where the suspension and brakes are before the full-on 2-day HPDE in October.
(feel free to revive this thread in 3 or 4 months )

I'm actually thinking about doing the HPDE there only because i want to see the croud of people in the stands, and think they are all for me

you don't have time to notice the people in the stands.
my first (only so far) HPDE was at HyperFest 2004. yeah, I waited 3 whole months to get Betty out on the track. it's just too damn hot in July in West Virginia. I wish they were having an early spring event at Summit...
I tired to sign up but the link didn't work. I emailed the organizers and they were pretty surprised that somebody wanted to sign up this early. they should be used to crazy car people by now, don't you think?
I think they do 2 runs a day. you going to sign up for the afternoon run Colin?

Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.

fo' sure. I'm going to sign up for 1 and hopefully 2 hyperdrives. it will be interesting to go to Hyperfest and actually be able to look around. last time I was too busy with my HPDE1 class.
Let me know when they fix the sign up stuff, I'll lay my money down

I would love to go. Hope I am out of the sling by then. Do'nt want the surgery to own my potentially fun time. Guess if I'm still in a sling, can I catch a ride with someone? I can be the official camera bitch. Then I can add that to my repertoire.
Steph: lol, I'm not sure you want to be in my car if you are still in a sling... I might cause more injury!
Colin: SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET

Julian are you doing the HPDE there? I'm thinking about it.
and steph, I'm sure there are people that will not injure you you. Now I'm not saying I'm that person, but I'm sure you can find one

lol, being worth it is a subjective matter... Many people have gone out for "rides" with me, some are even foolish enough to follow me on the slopes... not many of them repeat that decision

How many laps on the Jefferson Circuit do you get? 1 lap in a stock wagon (I know....I'm sad about it too) doesn't seem worth it (price is good...just don't think it's worth the time) but if it's a few laps to get things down a bit that'd definitely be a good time.....yes.....even in a stock wagon (I know...I'm sad about it too).
Also - camping.....who's camping? What's the plan for the overnighters? Personally, I think camping would be teh shiznit but if there's a bunch of us taking over a local hotel or something that could be cool too. Would really love to do a "head up Friday after work and stay through the weekend" type of deal. Has anyone thought that far ahead yet?
Hyper Drive = 20 minutes in class followed by 20 minutes on track.
my idea is to book our HD in advance, drive up in the morning, to the HD, check out the car show, watch some Porsche Cup action, then drive home that evening. it's less than 2 hour drive from Alexandria.
I'm in for camping or the hotel. I'll check the site tomorrow to sign up
