Looks like VW is changing the name of the Golf back to the "Rabbit".

That was my sisters first car... I actually missed the name. Golf always seemed silly.

Why don't they just call it the VW Titmouse or the VW Ardvark. Oooh, maybe the can come out w/ a special edition VW DungBeetle while they are at it. :roll:

as someone who is old enough to remember the original VW Rabbit, I think it's very cool. remember what "performance" cars were like in the mid 80's? I do... :roll: the OG Rabbit was the beginning of the "hot hatch" that became the tuner scene. I like the return of the name, so long as they stay true to the spirit of the original.

I don't know, maybe they should upgrade the name "rabbit" to "snow bunny".

You know I always thought it was the 'VW Gulf' until I saw my roommates R32 and found out that it's the 'VW Golf'. Now they're changing it [back] to 'VW Rabbit'? Don'cha think that sounds kind of wimpish. I still think my misinterpretation of 'VW Gulf' was better.
