do you mean just a straight-up 2.0? i know the folks over at eip have made some pretty quick turbo kits for thems... all the other suspension and such are the same IIRC.

Yeah, I will have to say I like how the new GTi looks. To bad it is slow in stock form...but that can change easy w/ some aftermarket goodies. My friend has a modified '04 GTi but he can't stand how fast my car is vs. his  especially since mine is a wagon!

that's a bit misleading seeing as there are Porsche owners who can't stand you fast your wagon is...

Welcome to the club Jesse! With either a turbo kit or doing work on your NA engine, you can definitely make that a quick little VW! What do you want from your mods?

I know that the VW is one of the easiest cars to customize. I just need to get my girl off of my back. Plus I am learning slowly from Mr. Kleen on how cars work... I think i am going to check out that Mega meet on Sat. I think that the easiest solution for me will be to start slow. When you guys see the vw,, it has 14's but I keep them clean..

We never make fun of wheel size... ;)

We can help you in the girl department believe it or not. Some of us have girls that don't understand the hobby, but we have found ways for them to accept it ;)

Id buy a TDI for the commuter car, then once warrantee ends, get rid of it, and maybe buy a toyota then when I realized that the TDI spent more time in the service bay than on the road.

Bad experiance with one.

I have had mine for a yr. put over 25000 miles on it and had very little technical difficulties outside of headlights and electronic sensors. but i am sure glad that it gets around 30 mpg with gas prices at an alltime high. we may have to stop having a car club and have a metro club. we can pimp out railcars and such.
