Yeah, Chris had 298WHP on the VF39  at one point but then started having boost leaks and problems w/ his Borla headers so he started over from scratch   ...he redid w/ new/better/different parts but was detuned for less power...he was about to install a larger turbo and get a reflash but his wife won out and now he not going to be modding any more and selling the car

I thought that was with the vf39? Either way, I was afraid you were going to say the WAPCE had won out and disallowed the purchase. That sux. A lot.

Freaking WAPCE. Why the hell is he letting her take over HIS hobby? I'm very sad for the loss :(

Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.

Actually, he is the fourth one recently...happened w/ my buddy george AKA GTP but also george has a longer commute from PA to Tyson's Corner so he wanted a softer luxury ride...but we know it was really his wife had him by the balls

Just for the record the 298whp was with the vf39. Trust me I'm certain. Chris and I had lots and lots of conversations about his XT over the years, from exhaust, turbos and suspension. As I recall, he originally chose the vf39 because he was running with an STi ECU with a reflash from Clark (AZScoobie on NASIOC). I was at the MachV meet when he ran. One of the smoothest and best looking power and torque curves I have ever seen! The XT will be missed.

I think I should also point out that not all of us married guys suffer from WAPCE (though I'm not sure what that stands for exactly, but I assume the W is for Wife). We have an agreement, I get to do what I want with the car and she get's to tease me about it. It works.

But my evil plans are starting to pan out. She is slowly becoming a car nut, even her family has started to rib her about it. She says that when her Pathfinder dies we are going to have to get her a Forester XT. And she wants to know how much power I'm going to get out of it!

I will agree, not all married men suffer from WAPCE (Women Are Pure Concentrated Evil - Darrin). I have met a great many women who have been absolutely amazing creatures and well worth the time and effort of getting to know them.

That aside, great job on the brainwashing, errr enlightening ;) I firmly believe that everyone can enjoy a performance vehicle. It's got universal appeal. Unless you're dead between the legs! (and I do mean guys as well as ladies)

No you are absolutely correct...I had been sniffing fumes before I posted it w/ the TD04  The TD04 in his ride is the one from my XT

Yeah, think the max on a stock unaltered TD04 is ~250WHP.

You sir are a very rare and lucky individual in that sense.

You should ditch the pathfinder and buy his XT for your wife.

I'd love to unfortunately, the pathfinder is paid off, runs great and is super cheap to maintain. I have a problem getting rid of anything that runs well. Hell, I still have an '85 trooper I can't bring myself to get rid of.
