All you've done is remind me how much I loathe IDE ribbons. My personal hell will probably be servicing computers with IDE ribbons for eternity.

one of the, umm, old guys here was mentioning a disk drive that stood over 6ft that Collins Radio made for his former employer back in the good old days. its on display at a certain place one needs permission to visit. I'd love to go.

I concur. My dad tells me stories of his punch card days...they had to go to one building to punch the cards and then walk back to another to use them. That would suck.
