All hail Prodrive P-7 wheels

Post by zaxrex »

As you all know, I am a fanatical believer in Prodrive P-7 wheels. Yes they are heavy, but with these you will never have to worry about bending a wheel....ever. I know.

With that being said.

Sick price on perfect condition P-7 out of CA

That is damn cheap, too bad they are only 17x7's :( I really want to move up to a 17x8 or maybe 17x8.5 (Not sure if those beasts will fit!)

What about 17 x 7.5s? or is that too narrow for you?

8.5's will fit for you with no rolling or rubbing, 9's are a different story.

Although prodrives are nice, i think i may jump on these as a.... umm.... job present, spending my first paycheck before i get it.

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=919465

i really wanted 8.5 and it only took me buying another 2 sets of wheels before i found a set i liked :(

Those are GREAT looking wheels Ross. Just outta curiosity, why are you going with 18's? I was wondering because of unsprung weight, etc.

first lets see if the asshats get back to me about a job, if so then I'll get them (and it will be Mr. Boss when that happens not asshat). As for why, I think 18's look nicer and I can fit more tire on an 18. The odds are i would use these for racing (although they look too nice for that lol). They are also a little less than 2lbs more than the stock BBS's so I'm not adding THAT much weight ;)

an 18" tire weighs more than a 17" tire? :? or is it an increase in width that you are referring to?

I'm fairly sure that tires would be a little heavier. Both in the 18" and the extra 1/2 inch.

I understand an 18" wheel weighing more than a 17", but tire? seems the tire should weigh the same or a little less as the sidewall is +/- 1" shorter?
