Hmmm, what better way to kick off the Frankfurt Auto Show than a race event?

Part of me is thinking of skipping this year and doing an ALMS event instead.

Do you mean just attending the ALMS portion of this Grand Prix? Or a dedicated ALMS event elsewhere?ElZorro wrote:Part of me is thinking of skipping this year and doing an ALMS event instead.

A full ALMS event, maybe a drive a state or two away, depending on schedule and tracks.WRXWagon2112 wrote:Do you mean just attending the ALMS portion of this Grand Prix? Or a dedicated ALMS event elsewhere?ElZorro wrote:Part of me is thinking of skipping this year and doing an ALMS event instead.

Okay - who's going? What are your plans? I'm hoping to head up for, at least, Saturday. Might also hit Sunday for the Indy race.

Read more: http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/auto ... z2czvAyR1MGathering speed for its third year, the Grand Prix of Baltimore looks to be on track, but behind the scenes a host of challenges make it increasingly possible this may be open-wheel racing's last year in the Inner Harbor.
Schedule conflicts for the next two years, questions about local and state support, and the sport's flagging popularity threaten the Grand Prix's future.

If the city wants it to happen they have the muscle to make it happen - sounds like they just aren't willing to put in the effort. This is why it only happened once? twice? in DC.

I'm thinking I'll bring the boy up on Saturday. We'll see if we both survive an entire day of father-son time together.

Re: 2013 Baltimore Grand Prix
I was up there on Saturday with my son. We met up with Matt (thermobox) for awhile - until Parker had had enough (about 4.5 hours). Not sure if anyone else made it up there.
Good crowd for a Saturday. I really hope it comes back next year.

Re: 2013 Baltimore Grand Prix
What a blast!! I hope it comes back next year and we can have more of a presence. I was one of two cars that showed up from the BRZ/FR-S guys? It was crazy and made no sense that 15-25 cars flaked out.
The weather was amazing. I had great company the whole time with Alan and others that I met while there. I'm totally gonna be there next year if they keep it running.
