The massive 20+ GB hard drive of our demo server is full making it impossible to run our testing scripts. FML

You seriously need to get out of there...

My workstation at work:

Code: Select all

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda2 19G 11G 7.1G 60% /
udev 2.0G 156K 2.0G 1% /dev
none 2.0G 4.0K 2.0G 1% /dev/shm
none 2.0G 92K 2.0G 1% /var/run
none 2.0G 0 2.0G 0% /var/lock
none 2.0G 0 2.0G 0% /lib/init/rw
/dev/sda3 5.8T 96G 5.5T 4% /Data
No data sets loaded right now, so my /Data RAID is very empty :)

U01 is the problem. The DB is stuck in internal mode now, so we can't even access the DB to delete file attachments and free up space. We are boned as it were.

Code: Select all

bash-3.00$ df -h
Filesystem size used avail capacity Mounted on
/dev/dsk/c1t0d0s0 9.8G 7.5G 2.2G 78% /

Any chance you have a bigger HD around that you can use temporarily? You could transfer all the stuff over on U01 to the borrowed drive, mount it, purge/compact/etc. the database, and then copy it back to the old drive and remount.

My boss poked around and deleted a whole bunch of old log files and freed up enough space to fix it. Thus proving once more that I'm not an Oracle DBA. Why do they keep giving me the jobs of an Oracle DBA???
