Reverse Issues

Well, I am putting this here because thoughts, ideas, etc are welcome.
Here is the break down of my issue.

What: I was trying to back into my parking spot at work and I had to put the car in reverse 3 times to get it to move. This wasn't the usual can't put the shifter in reverse issue. The issue was that the shifter was in reverse, I gave it gas like normal and released the clutch like normal. The car over revved like if it would have been in neutral and it felt like the hill assist was still engaged because the car didn't roll forward as it should have (to back into the spot you have to reverse in a small incline). Twice the car didn't engage, finally by the third try it worked as normal.
Now most of you have seen that I was t-boned about 3.5 months ago pretty seriously so I am not sure if that had to do with it. This is the first time I have experienced it so I am not sure if it is a one time fluke or something serious. I tried searching on NASIOC but really had a hard time finding what I needed (and when I posted a reply on one of the threads asking about this someone unkindly corrected me for typing "Wagon" and not "hatch" really??? WTF).
My co-worker suggested I go to Subaru and run a diagnostic on it, which is fine... but here is the problem... Subaru most likely won't be able to duplicate the problem...
Suggestions?
Thanks!
