Re: RIP: Buell
while i'm saddened to see them go, i really can't say that i didn't see this coming. the cost vs performance of the buell brand was significantly higher than the japanese counterparts.
they had great ideas with mass centralization, zts braking and frame bracing. they always (until last year) kept a stupid ing HD v-twin in every stinking bike. What a disaster! It was a crime to keep a bike (that highly priced!) restrained with a weak heart. handling was never an issue.
i was really, reeeeeely hoping that this would all change when they first unveiled the 1125 series. looks like it was too little, too late.
i admire the man a great deal. i wish his dream could have stayed alive.
r.i.p.

Re: RIP: Buell
Damn sad to see. I've always wondered why I didn't see more of them out there!

and that ratio is exponentially more important for a bike than a car.ElZorro wrote:Their smiles per $ ratio was too low.
