Custom Multigauge LCD

Post by Cereb Daithi »

Just a little teaser for you. My buddy is working on an OEM looking Multigauge LCD that he will start producing and selling shortly. Here are some shots of the build progress.

He plans to sell them for $300. Very cool if you are trying to maintain that OEM look.

What can't people get the Arduino to do these days?

Agreed! Seems like everyone in Make (go figure) is using them!

Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.

I used to be into the PSi3 unit, but this is even more covert. Any idea as to what it will use to gather data? OBDII?

Here's an example of his wiring diagrams. Looks like he does it with his own sensors.

Quote from him earlier
if i tune the system for each set of resistors used, the accuracy of the oil temp is to 1 degree F and the pressure is within 1 psi. if i choose a middle ground and let the tolerances of the resistors fuck shit up then accuracy drops to plus or minus 3-4... wonder how the tolerances of the sensors themselves stack up...

Sure seems like taping into the stock sensor uotput would be easier than building his own. But what do I know, I am just a guy who uses multiple parallel resistors to average out accuracy problems.
