July 9th, 2009- Winners Launches Anti-Burglar Film
Winners launches campaign against "Smash & Grab" vehicle crime by offering Llumar Automotive Safety & Security Film. This anti-burglar film is designed to provide a stong defense against the unexpected, including side-impact collisions and smash-and-grab theft. The multilayed, optically clear film is applied to standard auto glass and is available in clear with UV protection or in various shades of tint with additional solar and privacy options.

Wow, pretty interesting stuff. Thanks!
This reminds me, I need to bring my Forester up there for a touchup at some point.

Wow, that is pretty impressive. I've seen them do this for commercial windows in high crime areas, but the first I've seen it for car windows!

Cool, stuff. I would get this done if I didn't already get tint on my car.
Curious...what does the window shattering look like if you have tint on the windows already?

Window Film will stick to shattered tempered glass, thus making it a somewhat effective way to protect yourself from flying glass. If the window (not applicable to vehicles) is annealed glass, the glass will shred the film and it will be just as dangerous as without it.
With smash-and-grab crime, regular window film aids the intruder by sticking the shattered glass together so that it can be pushed in/our in one big piece. That way the intruder doesn't hurt him/herself while breaking into your car.

Yes, there is Anti-Burglar auto window film in shades that are legal in Washington DC. The film is available in Clear with 99% UV Protection. That will allow front doors to pass inspection. The film is also available in tinted shades of 50%, 40%, and 20% of which the 50% is legal in DC for the rear of any passenger vehicle.
