Okay, I have to admit that this Gizmodo article has captured my interest. As someone who has to spend much of his day in front of multiple monitors with waaaay too much florescent lighting, anything to give the ol' eyeballs a break would be reeeely cool.

Product page can be found here.

So what say ye? Snake oil? Actual product with legit usage and benefits? Anyone heard anything about them?

(I don't care if I look like a complete tool wearing them. If they work, I want. )

Certainly possible. There are alot of reasons this could be working though:

- Lens geometry
- Lens color
- Polarization
- Up-to-date prescription (this is a huge one... when my headaches get up to a couple a month I update my glasses and they go away).

It'd be interesting to see some study data and not marketing fluff.

I'd be for it...especially w/ the yellow tint for better driving :)...although, I always feel like my depth perception is off when driving w/ glasses.

Uh, yeah...

Don't most driving lenses have yellow tint for better contrast when driving? Or maybe I am totally off my rocker here...too much stress at work and not enough sleep...makes for a faulty hard drive.

Yeppers, most driving lenses are tinted yellow for better contrast. However, the article (and product page) show their intended purpose as relieving eye strain while sitting in front of a computer... They also go on to mention how peripheral vision is blurred by using these glasses. I figured that would be less than optimal when driving.

Okay, missed that point...makes more sense now.
