ODBII scanner...
Hey all,
Anyone have a ODBII scanner that I can use? Suzie's Honda threw a CEL this morning and I wanted to check to see what it was.
Thanks,
Julian

Where are you located? Anywhere near Springfield?
BTW, will AutoZone or something tell you which code was thrown? I know they test batteries, but this is a little different, haha.

That's fine if they don't erase it... Depending on what the problem is, she might be going to a shop anyway.

If you are interested in logging through an OBDII port, I highly recommend the Pocketlogger (www.digitaltuning.com). This is pound for pound the best OBDII datalog out. I think that everyone sohuld have one just to get a feel for whats happening when tuning.
I used pocket pocket logger to dyno tune anything that comes in with an AFC and is OBDII. Without some sort of data loggin, your just tuning blind.

Have turbo, will spool.

Pocketlogger is great if you own a Mitsubishi but the sampling rate for Subarus is MUCH lower (6 vs 11 - 20 depending on model). I looked into this when I had my Civic Si. I think it's a great product, just not for my specific auto.
OBDII data rates vary between 6 and 20 depending on the car. PocketLOGGER's unique Byte Timing controls allow the user to optimize the data rate no matter what car or PDA you have. The worst car we have found is the Subaru WRX which can barely maintain 6 samples per second.

^^^ As much as I hate to say this, almost seems like a failure on Subaru's side not to sample fast enough for ODBII. I'm VERY suprised this isn't in the standard.
